Established Apparel Manufacturer has immediate need for fulltime in-house Technical Designer to work on Women’s Activewear categories.
As an Associate Technical Designer your main responsibilities will include:
- Translating design concepts into technical packages (tech packs), including detailed specifications for fit, construction, and fabrications
- Developing product specifications and garment measurements for activewear styles (e.g., leggings, sports bras, tops, jackets)
- Creating and maintaining graded size specifications across all size ranges
- Conducting and support with leading fit sessions with cross-functional teams and fit models
- Making fit adjustments and recommendations to ensure activewear products meet company fit standards- Reviewing garments for fit consistency, pattern corrections, and grading
- Working closely with designers, production teams, pattern makers, and overseas factories to manage the development process from concept to final sample
- Collaborating with suppliers and manufacturers to resolve fit,
construction, and quality issues throughout the development process
- Communicating any technical changes or improvements to all relevant teams
- Ensuring that fabrics,trims,and components are tested for performance in activewear
- Collaborating with material and product development teams with sourcing fabrics
- Identifying areas of opportunity in technical design processes,
- Maintaining and updating PLM(Product Lifecycle Management) systems reflecting current specifications and designs
- Ensuring that all technical designs meet high-quality standards and providing approvals for final samples before production
- Working with production teams to ensure accuracy and consistency across all final products in bulk production
Qualifications:
3+ years of technical design experience or product development experience in the apparel industry, preferably within activewear or performance wear categories
• Strong experience with garment fit grading, construction, and fabrics specific
• Proficiency in PLM systems
• Expertise in Adobe CS Illustrator
• Strong knowledge of garment construction and manufacturing processes.
• Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
